Tim Schliebs, with over a decade of involvement in the ServiceNow ecosystem, brings a wealth of experience to GetSome. Having worked with ServiceNow partners for more than ten years, Tim has honed his skills as a senior developer and administrator. For over half a decade, he led teams of support personnel, successfully managing and maintaining ServiceNow environments for numerous clients across Australia and New Zealand. His last position before founding GetSome was as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in their ServiceNow practice.

During over a decade of experience in the ServiceNow ecosystem Tim observed some functions that clients seemed to struggle to manage confidently.

A hesitancy to take responsibility for the Instance Hardening of ServiceNow

In the years supporting ServiceNow clients, it was noticed that there was a reluctance from many admins to take ownership of their instance's security. Often there was a perception that ServiceNow security was too hard, risky or something that should be the responsibility of a cyber team rather than the Admin. This often lead to the instance not being as locked down and secure as it should have been as simple security actions were not taken on the ServiceNow instance. For instance, actions like disabling unnecessary plugins or enforcing multi-factor authentication were often overlooked, leading to vulnerabilities.

A lack of understanding of Subscription Management and how to optimise licenses

Another gap that was noticed was that businesses did not have a good grip on their current license usage, and would often be paying for unnecessary licenses and had not put any thought into how their license spend could be optimised to deliver them more value for the same spend.
